How many times have you hit your local wrecking yards searching for parts, and when you asked the guy at the gate he said he had Cutlass parts. But when you go inside, you don’t find a single Cutlass – or even an Oldsmobile, for that matter? It’s frustrating, so you head off to the next wrecking yard and the same routine sends you in with hopes and you’re back out with disappointment.
After a few wrecking yards, you learn not to ask and you just take your chances. You pay your two bucks to get in, you look around for an hour before you realize they don’t even have American cars there. So you decide to hit the local bar for a brewski and chat up your muscle car project to anyone who will listen as you talk about how freaking difficult it is to find parts for your 1973 Olds 442.
When someone perks up and asks, “you got a 442?”, you beam with pride and tell them, “hell yeah! It’s a bad ass ride”. When they ask to see it, you have to tell them you’re still searching for parts to finish it because you want it done right. Then you both slouch in dismay with another tall glass of suds, talking about favorite hot rods and muscle cars that neither of you currently drive because you can’t find parts.
Well, good news is here for a lucky buyer who is ready to get his Olds on the road again. A seller on Craigslist in Milwaukee is selling his stash of parts we like to call “Cutlass in a Box”. For a mere $250 he’s willing to clear out his many boxes of Cutlass parts, including just about everything but the kitchen sink. He probably doesn’t have the body or the frame, but almost everything else seems to be there. Some assembly required.
