Craigslist Find: Rare Cherry Red 1967 Mustang GTA S-Code

Americans are the descendants of Cowboys, a wild bunch who were infamous for riding their wild horses. Cowboys took pride in taming a wild stallion, the rarer the horse like a Mustang the bigger the bragging rights.

Her Candy Apple paint is worn but no rust could be spotted on the exterior. Though it contains enough dust to leave you sneezing for days, no major tears were observed in the interior or the vinyl top. All she needs is a paint buffer and a interior detailing to get this baby back on the road.

Though it’s still considered part of the first generation of Mustang, 1967 saw the first major changes in design. The size was increased via extending the length and the width of the body.

The S-Code Ford 390 engine was a game changer for Ford in terms of performance.

The body also saw redefined styling lines which were more performance influenced: a meaner front grill, rear taillights with a sportier shape to them. Not only did the ’67 Stang look sexier, it was faster and performed better too. To keep up with GM and Mopar, Ford gave the Stang a new top-of-the-line powerplant: the top secret S Code option. The S Code was the 320 horsepower 390 cubic inch V8 engine option that helped this pony race to 60MPH in just 7.4 seconds.

In 1967 the Mustang went from being a Pony to a full grown Mare. Hopefully the right rider can tame this wild horse and put back on the great American roads once again.1967 Ford Mustang GTA convertible
