Imagine having 473 collector cars that you had to narrow down to about 220 vehicles. How do you choose which ones to keep and which ones to sell? Sam Pack, a Ford dealer out of Dallas, TX, just had to make that choice. Putting 131 cars on auction on November 15, 2014, Pack was able to earn an astounding $11.5 million.

Even more incredible, there were no reserves on any of the vehicles sold, which many usually would consider to be pretty risky. Planning on making around $9 million in sales, having no reserves, turned out to be a great choice for the high-quality cars as Pack exceeded his expectations in sales.

The big seller was a 1967 Shelby 427 Cobra which brought in a whopping $1,292,500. Along with the 1967 Cobra, another eye catcher included a 2006 Ford GT that had less than 12 miles, selling at a cool $418,000. A 1963 Shelby 289 Cobra sold for $880,000, while a custom 1939 Lincoln Zephyr coupe carrying a Cosworth V-12 engine sold for $253,000.

The remaining 220 vehicles in Pack’s collection will be located in two museums. Pack doesn’t plan on stopping his car collecting and will continue to look for the rare cars spanning the decades of the 1940s, 1950s, and the 1960s. “I will continue to buy and sell,” said Pack, 77.

Some other cars worthy of mentioning that were sold; a 1931 Chrysler CG Imperial Roadster brought in $341,000, a 1932 Packard Eight Coupe Roadster sold for $209,000 and a 1957 Ford F-Code Thunderbird sold for $247,500.
