Calling all cars, calling all cars, the History Channel is looking for you and your car. Okay, maybe they’re not looking for all cars, but if you do happen to own a project car that needs a restoration, there is help available. The History Channel is currently airing a new television show based around the love of cars, called “Lost in Transmission.” How this benefits you is; they are looking for a few good, “project” cars that they can film being restored for the show. Actually, the host, Rutledge Wood—a self-proclaimed car fanatic is looking for the cars. Rutledge has teamed up with Nashville native George Flanigen, and together they are out to rid the world of unrestored cars.
The premise of the show is that Rutledge and George travel across the south in Rutledge’s souped-up old bread/milk van, in hopes of finding these projects-in-hiatus, and work with the car owners to bring them back to life. What happens is, the guys show up at the car owner’s house or shop, and give him or her an estimate of what it will cost to restore the car—actually, Rutledge gives the estimate, and then George loses his mind when it is usually too low, but regardless. If you accept the offer, the duo works with a local shop to bring your car back to life. Sounds like a good deal to us. No muss, no fuss, and you get a restored car.
