It was only a matter of time before a 1,000 horsepower Dodge Challenger Hellcat rolled out of the shops owned by John Hennessey, the speed-junkie CEO of Hennessey Performance. Although it took longer than we expected, Hennessey has finally rolled out what you might say is the ultimate Hellcat, producing over 1,000 horsepower and nearly as much torque.

Officially, the HPE1000 package produces 1,032 horsepower and 987 lb-ft at the crankshaft, a 30% increase over the already-bonkers 707 horsepower the Hellcat has from the factory. How’d Hennessey do it? By adding a twin-turbo kit that works in conjunction with the 6.2 liter HEMI (which probably explains why it has taken so long). The two ball-bearing turbos work at 15 psi of boost and are linked to an upgraded high-flow water-to-air intercooler.

Another part of the 1,032 horsepower equation are stainless steel headers and downpipes, billet aluminum compressor wheels, and a high-flow induction system to feed the massive quantities of air this engine consumes. Keep in mind, these power ratings are using 93 octane.

All this adds up to a claimed 2.7 second run from 0 to 60 MPH and a 9.9 second dash down the quarter-mile at 142 MPH. No price is mentioned, but if you’ve got $60,000 to spend on a Hellcat, chances are you can afford the HPE1000 package, too.

Or to put it another way, can you afford to not have a 1,032 horsepower Hellcat?
