The C4 Corvette is not often remembered as fondly as it should be. Built between 1984 and 1986, it made due with a mild engine and so-so looks. Yet even when it was new, the C4 Corvette was subject to untold amounts of experimentation and performance enhancing modifications to boost the tepid stock power output. From the original ZR-1 to the stretched Facloneer V12 Corvette, plenty of power and performance was packed into this humble package.
Yet perhaps none were as impressive or as well known as the twin-turbo Corvettes built by Callaway Cars. Produced from 1987 to 1991, a low-mileage example of these awesome ‘Vettes has been posted up on eBay.
Callaway really made a name for itself with its twin-turbo Corvettes. Just a handful of these were made in 1991, which was the last year for the twin-turbo package. This package actually available through select Chevy dealerships and came with a standard GM 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. Called the “B2K” option, these Corvettes would be shipped directly to Callaway from the Bowling Green manufacturing facility, along with a twin-turbo conversion system.
1991 was the most powerful Callaway Corvette to date, making 403 horsepower and a stump-pulling 582 ft-lbs of torque. This pristine example has just over 1,200 miles on it and truly looks factory fresh. Judging by the other awesome cars around this, this car was part of an extensive collection, so it was in all likelihood well taken car of. These cars don’t often show up on eBay, so if you’ve been longing for a classic Callaway twin-turbo, now might be your only chance.
