eBay Find: Show-Quality 1963 Plymouth Savoy Gasser

savoy 1 [1]Surfing around on different websites that offer race cars for sale, you never know what can be found. Building and selling cars is a way for most shops to stay in business, while some individuals just like to sell what they build to start a new project. eBay is one of the sites where you can find all kinds of machines for sale from top level show cars to basket case projects waiting for someone to finish them, and it’s there that we’ve found this killer 1963 Plymouth Savoy Gasser that’s ready for a new owner to throw some gas in her and make noise.

Plymouth introduced the Savoy as a sub-trim model of the Concord vehicle line. In later production years the Savoy was offered in multiple forms from a club-style couple all the way up to a Suburban style wagon. Still, the Savoy was an entry level car and its sales were not hitting the marks needed. In 1964 the Savoy was discontinued, but you could still get the 383 V8 backed by a Torqueflite transmission.savoy 4 [2]

The Savoy Gasser for sale on eBay looks like a great mix of period correctness mixed with quality modern updates. Setting the tone for the car is the 800 horsepower, 426 Max Wedge motor with a big blower and Holley Dominator on top. Handling the shifting duties is a Turbo 400 that sends the power to a set of 3.90 gears out back. The car appears to have a pretty stout roll cage installed for track use, and a great addition to the car is a set of coil overs and large assortment of gauges to help monitor all the car’s vitals.

To top everything off, the car can run on pump gas, is street legal, has power windows, and a working radio.  With the period correct stance, great paint and fender dump headers this car would look bad ass going to a local cruise in, or laying down single digit passes at the track.
