Summer is the season of the hot rod. The warm weather makes for good times on the road and track. Cruising with the windows down and the tires sticking to the road is one of the reasons we build our cars. One of the other reasons is the culture and community that comes along with it. Now that the winter has thawed and the cover should be off your hot rod, get ready to drive to Pleasanton, California for the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association 22nd Annual Summer Get-Together.
May 30-31, 2015, the Alameda County Fairgrounds is going to fill up with more than 2,500 American made or powered hot rods, classics, trucks, musclecars and customs. Goodguys events are always stacked with plenty to do. A Special Indoor Car Show Exhibit for the best of the best. As usual, the Autocross will give competitors a chance to push their cars to the limit in an attempt to get the top bragging rights. Vendors and Manufacturers from all around the Country will have booths set up and display vehicles out for spectators to get their hands on.
Goodguys shows are always a great place to try your luck for top awards. At the 22nd Summer Get-Together, vehicles will be up for awards such as the 2015 Goodguys/Rocket Racing Wheels Muscle Car of the Year Finalist, Specialy Sales Classics Pick and the Goodguys Pick. Spectators will be able to get into the Mighty Muscle Special Parking Area for vehicles from ’55 to ’72. There will also be a 4×4 Jamboree Special Parking Area for anything that drives all 4 wheels.
