There were few heroes of the dragstrip who were more congenial and well-liked than Ronnie Sox. Titled “Mr. 4-Speed” by those who knew him, Sox was a force to be reckoned with when it came to cutting a light and rowing through the gears. Sadly, Ronnie Sox succumbed to prostate cancer a few years back, but his spirit lives on. Recently, Bill Sefton and Mike Staveski from Mr. Norm’s Garage announced that they’ve partnered with Ronnie’s widow, Diane and racing partner, Buddy Martin to offer the first new Sox & Martin Collectors Series Super Street ‘Cuda as the “centerpiece” of a benefit drive for the Ronnie Sox Foundation.
The Collectors Series Sox & Martin Super Street ‘Cuda (serial number #1) mirrors the iconic Sox & Martin ’70 Pro Stock HEMI ‘Cuda with retro-style Keystone rims, the signature Sox & Martin paint scheme and Six-Pack-inspired hood scoop. Of course, being from Mr. Norm’s Garage, the 6.1L HEMI is supercharged and features enough go-power to make Mr. Sox very proud.
The ‘Cuda will be showcased at this year’s Mopars at The Strip event in Las Vegas, April 10th with Diane Sox, Bill Sefton and Mike Staveski. The ‘Cuda was debuted at last year’s MATS event and was paraded around the country where enthusiasts and collectors had the opportunity to purchase tickets to win the ‘Cuda at this year’s Mopars at the Strip. The net proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Ronnie Sox Foundation, which supports the children at St. Jude and teaches awareness and early detection for prostate cancer.
Bill Sefton and Mike Staveski from Mr. Norm’s Garage stated, “It’s a real privilege to work with Diane Sox, Buddy Martin and the Ronnie Sox Foundation. The proceeds from the Sox & Martin Super Street Cuda will help make a real difference in the lives of many people.” Tickets to enter to win the first-ever Sox & Martin Super Street ‘Cuda are still available for $25 or two for $40.
