Frank The Pit Bull Is This Dodge Challenger Owner’s Co-Pilot

Challenger Dog-2Frank is an American Pit Bull Terrier. While there has been plenty of bad press about this particular breed of dog, that’s not what this story is about. We are here to tell you about one Dodge Challenger owner’s co-pilot and traveling companion. You see, Frank loves to ride shotgun.

Challenger Dog-1Rodney Jones was an American military serviceman. He was serving his country in Iraq with Team Outlaw. Between duty days, and in what little spare time he could muster, Jones read car magazines because he was, like many of you, an automotive enthusiast. He read that Dodge was re-inventing the classic Challenger musclecar for model-year 2008 as a limited-edition, high-performance SRT8. Chrysler was in the process of taking deposits for the car and just 6,400 of them would be built.

Even though the nearest Dodge dealer was on the other side of the world, that didn’t stop Jones. He made himself a promise–that he was going to get out in one piece and get that car. He was eventually able to get to the phone and a computer at the “morale center” after putting in a long convoy to “Camp Anaconda,” and made his order. After his tour was up, and he was back home in Georgia, the car was delivered.

So how does Frank fit in to the story? Well, Frank sits shotgun, and continues to do so even today now that the Dodge Challenger SRT8 has more than 200,000 miles on it. The two drive long distances to car shows on a regular basis. You see, as Rod says, “Frank’s job is to protect the Challenger from strangers. I think when it comes to the Challenger, Frank is probably my favorite accessory.” Street Legal TV sends the two a salute, and best wishes rolling on to the 300,000 mark.
