This is what you get when you stitch together old cadaver auto parts and flip the switch. Scavenged from local bone yards, this Olds Cutlass Wagon is the mastermind of auto recycler guru Jesse Treveloni. The goal was to have a stealthy winter beater to haul the kids around without breaking the bank. According to AutoHolics, mission accomplished with total cost coming in around $3000.00
Assembled in month or so, this wagon is running a Vortech 8100 Big Block with 340hp, a Doug Nash 5-speed and 9” Ford rear end. The big old rat bolted right in with a pair of V8 G-Body motor mounts and an accessory drive from a blown up 8.1 marine duty motor from a friend. The Doug Nash transmission needed a little more persuading, but eventually complied.
Unfortunately, the build took a year long hiatus when an electrical gremlin reared it’s head (it turn out to be a couple a crossed wires on the front and rear coil packs), but once that was exorcised, the wagon was running and on loose.
Jesse was hoping the big block would fit under the hood but no such luck. After some angle grinder surgery, the throttle body, oil filler and alternator poke up ever so slightly above the hood line. Other than that one exterior mod, you’d be hard pressed to know what lurks under the stock, suburban sheet metal of this super sleeper monster.
