To drive fast, of course, you need a fast car, so there is also a good chance you’ve done at least some of your own modifications. While you don’t need a whole lot of talent to press the pedal to the proverbial metal, learning to how drive fast, well, is important if you intend to keep yourself out of trouble, and blow the competition away.

Heidts Hot Rod and Muscle Car Parts, a major maker of all sorts of go-fast parts, is offering a three day driving event called the Heidts Performance Car Challenge to help owners and drivers of domestic sports cars hone their racing skills.

The event is open to domestic cars of all years and begins in Friday, July 15^th at Heidts Headquarters before a 50 mile cruise to the host hotel in Joliet, Illinois. Saturday features a road course training event at the 1.46 mile Autobahn Country Club North Track, which is a forgiving but technically challenging track that will allow drivers of all skill levels to improve their technique.

Sunday is the main event, with the 1.46 mile track being converted into a one-of-a-kind autocross track. Featuring rumble strips, rotundas, slaloms, and other vehicular obstacles, the Performance Car Challenge will offer a truly unique opportunity to hone your skills with other car enthusiasts from across the country.
