Vehicular mashups have always been a popular sub-sect of the automotive culture, and the whole hot rodding scene got its start by combining the engine, drivetrain, and bodies of different vehicles. Today such vehicles tend to have a lot more craftsmanship and skill compared to the original hot rods…but creativity has never been in short supply.
While checking out one of our favorite vehicle hot spots, Craigslist, we came across this combination Chevy Nova/El Camino that we just had to share.
This car has been featured in magazines and websites before, and is quite well known. And now here is your chance to own it. This car started life as a ‘66 Nova Wagon, onto which a ‘67 front clip was attached, and builder/owner Richard Crooker custom built this whole vehicle from scratch, utilizing elements and styles from the popular El Camino.
The No Camino uses a Mustang II front suspension, and is powered by a 290 horsepower GMPP small-block engine. The motor is backed by a 200-4R automatic transmission and features a GM 10-bolt rear end, a beautiful paint job, and a smooth ride. A Nova-based El Camino sounds like something GM should have made, but it was left up to a retired craftsman to carry out.
If you’ve got $45,000 and a hole in your heart that only a Nova-based pickup can fill, the No Camino is right for you.
