If You Are Longing For A Nova, This One Falls Short

Now that we’ve seen a few classic cars tearing it up at the autocross, a lot more of them are appealing to potential buyers lately. You can find upgraded suspension components from several manufacturers, as well as brake upgrades and performance upgrades like LS swaps and transmission swaps. We don’t expect that list to get shorter, it’s only going to grow as the popularity of classic muscle cars grows. This 1964 Nova, however falls short on that list of upgrades – literally. We also think it’s about a half-pint low on coolant.

Okay, we’ll stop with the short jokes, because even though it’s rather funny, this shorty Nova is really for sale and it’s really short. Many purists have forever hated when someone cut a classic car up to make a shorty out of it, but some people seem to like them. The guy selling this car, or should we say bartering with this car, says he lost interest when the work he expected to have done a couple years ago didn’t get done.

Now he’s offering his shorty 1964 Nova up for trade on Craigslist, with a claimed value of roughly $8500. It doesn’t drive, there are no brakes and it needs a gas tank, it has a newly built Chevy 350 with 0 miles, rally wheels and new tires. But wait… there’s more! He says this car, with the brakes, fuel tank and the top installed, should be worth mid $30k!

Don't adjust your monitor!

While it is rather funny to see a car like this occasionally at a classic Chevy car show, we can’t imagine what it would be like to drive this car anywhere else. The parking lot at a car show, where you can grandstand the hell out of it and give everyone their few minutes of “awww” seems to be about the only practical place to drive it.

But, if it appeals to your comical side, maybe you could trade him your Jeep or Street rod, or an ATV you’re not using, and then you can park this in the same spot and not use this. We like it, but you really have to think twice about a car like this. And be prepared for all the short jokes.
