Is This Yard The Actions of a Mopar Enthusiast or a Car Hoarder?

We all know at least a few gear-heads that would love to have full collections of classic muscle cars, including ourselves. Unfortunately, it is not reality for some and won’t come as fast as one would wish for others. For those who are of the minority and able to afford having many classic cars, we are envious. Unfortunately, some people who have car collections don’t take care of their fleet as well as we would hope. As a forum member on DodgeCharger.com found out, some owners of car collections don’t take car of them at all.

The forum member, who goes by Devil, posted up that on a recent trip for a job interview in Vermont, he was informed about a “local Mopar nut.” It wasn’t until he searched the guy out and saw his property that the forum member discovered just what kind of a nut he was.

Now, when I think car collection, I think along the lines of Jay Leno’s cars. Unfortunately, what the forum member found was of the opposite extreme. In his forum post, the member included several images that show just how far gone these once pristine cars are.

The man, who told the forum member he doesn’t want to be identified, had Mopar after Mopar lined up on his property. We aren’t talking about nice, neat rows, however. In fact the cars look like they were haphazardly placed on the man’s property anywhere where they would fit.

From Challengers to ‘Cudas to Dusters, this man has them all. Although the forum member doesn’t state how many cars were on the property, it looks to be at least 50 cars from the photos.

Some of the cars are in a barn, covered in dirt and amongst other clutter. Those are the ones that have faired the best. Others sit outside on grass, leaves and dirt, intertwined with overgrown bushes and weeds. Some are even “stored” in what looks to be a forest- some mixed in with young trees and others with old or broken tree branches resting on their bodies.

As you can image, the cars are in horrible shape. Most of them are shells, rusting away to a point of no return. Body panels are missing as well as doors, glass, wheels and whole sections of the body. Any hope of having a place to sit in these car was eaten away or merely pulled out of the interiors many years ago.

Rare finds that many people would pay decent money to have in their garages are sitting in what seems to be their final resting spot in this Vermont man’s yard. It is unfortunate to any gear head that any fine piece of muscle would waste away like these are.

While the man told the forum member that he’s willing to sell some things, he really doesn’t want to get rid of any of his cars. Having this many classic Mopars would normally insinuate some kind of passion for muscle cars, but it seems that that isn’t the case in this situation.

Rather, it looks like the forum member came across a Mopar hoarder intent on keeping his cars until someone else has to clean up his estate.
