When Chrysler dropped the Dodge Viper, nobody was happy. Then Chrysler brought the Viper back as an SRT model, and Mopar fans the world over rejoiced. The only problem is that us fast car enthusiasts are not exactly the patient type. So last week when the Drive SRT Facebook page announced that it would release a teaser of the 2013 Viper if their Facebook page reached 10,000 likes, it didn’t take long for the fans to reply. 10,000 Likes came and went, but we had to wait until just a few minutes ago to get our first look at the 2013 Viper teaser.

And here it is. Quite frankly, we’re surprised SRT gave us as much as they did. So what does this teaser tell us about the upcoming Viper?

Not a whole lot, as the teaser shot is from the front end only. We do get a good shot of the headlights, which bear an L-shaped outline not unlike the C-shaped outline for the new Chrysler 300 sedan. Also apparent is the outline of a hood scoop that looks an awful lot like a hooded cobra (the snake not the car.)

In fact, taking a look at this teaser, the whole outline of the 2013 Viper looks very snake-like. Notice the humps on the roof, the way the headlights are shaped like eyes. There’s an obvious snake them at work in this teaser, which leads us to believe that the new Viper as a whole might take after the legless predator. We’ll have to wait a few more months to find out for sure, but this teaser has done its job and then some. We can’t wait to see the real deal unveiled.
