Mattson’s Custom Radiator Back in Business

[1]

Old school rodders and custom show builders will be happy to know that Mattson’s Custom Radiator, an aluminum radiator manufacturer popular with top vehicle builders for several decades, is back in business. After its owner fell victim to a struggling economy, Jack Mattson, Jr. and his son, Jack Mattson III, have teamed up to reestablish the business, started in 1957 by their father and grandfather, Jack Mattson.

[2]Armed with a new name, innovative new product designs and a trusted manufacturing staff with 39 years of Mattson’s production experience, the family is set to put themselves back on top again with their meticulously crafted, polished radiators.

Top builders in the industry are extremely supportive. According to Scott Bonowski, Grand National Roadster Show 2011 Builder of the Year, “At Hot Rods and Hobbies we always use the best products available. Mattson’s craftsmanship never fails to impress, and we can be assured that not only are their aluminum radiators beautiful, but they are engineered to fit properly and perform as needed.”

The 1950 Mercury shown above was built by Bonowski and features a custom Mattson’s radiator. Owned by actor Matthew Fox, the Merc won the 2009 Sacramento Autorama’s World’s Most Beautiful Custom award.

Specializing in muscle cars, street rods, hot rods and more, Mattson’s prides itself in high quality construction and unique designs. All Mattson’s aluminum radiators feature 40% greater cooling efficiency than standard brass radiators, ultra-strong tanks and mounting flanges, show-quality TIG welding, a double pass design for increased cooling and a billet aluminum filler neck.
