Gallery: Mopar C-Body Treasures Found in Junkyard

Garrett, one of the members from the Moparts forum went junkyarding a couple weeks ago and came across a nice variety of old Mopars. The cars we were most impressed about, were the full-sized C-Bodies that were still intact and very restore able. We didn’t get the name of the yard, but by the license plates on most of the cars, it looks to be in Minnesota.

The C-Body cars from mother Mopar were actually the full size offerings from Dodge, Plymouth, and Chrysler built from 1965 to 1973. There were also C-Body offerings from ’74 through ’77, but ’73 marked the end of the bigger full-size body.

The most popular C -Body models had to have been Plymouth’s Fury, the Dodge Polara and Monaco, and Chrysler’s Imperial, Newport and New Yorker. Because of the rising cost and scarcity of B and E-Bodies the C-Bodies are gaining popularity. Take a look at what Garret, the member from Moparts saw on his hunt for Mopar treasure.

There was a very unmolested ’70 Imperial 2-door with a rebuilt 440 for $2500, a very good buy. A couple of very complete 1966 Furys were on site that looked as if a battery and gas would have them running.

These larger bodies were not neglected in the way of options either, as many of these beasts had some super cool options like a power moon roof that was found on a 4-door Imperial. A VIP that had a tilt wheel it was born with. A rare ’71 convertible Fury was just sitting awaiting a restoration.

This yard had a large quantity of very rare cars that somehow escaped the crusher, and its good to know that these cars are still out there to be found. We thought you should also know that Garret saw his share of Chargers, Road Runners, B- and A-Bodies, and even a Fiat Topolino. Meaning? Yeah, the cool stuff is still out there. Just get off your butt and go outside and look around.
