Music fans are suckers for rock and roll memorabilia; whether it’s an autographed Beatles album, Eddie Van Halen’s guitar, or Jim Morrison’s leather pants, collectors from all over the world pay big money for basically anything that’s associated with their favorite musicians.
So we can’t help but wonder how they will take to Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue’s former daily driver? Recently, we discovered that he was selling his 1971 Chevelle SS 454 convertible, and from the impeccable cleanliness and detail, it’s obvious this car was well cared for.

The Chevy is offered up for sale through Red Hills and Choppers [3], where Sixx purchased it himself just over a year ago. It was meticulously restored from the frame up shortly before he bought it, and between his daily commute from Malibu to Los Angeles, it hasn’t acquired much wear. Everything on the car was rebuilt, replaced, or restored, including every nut and bolt and it shows in the pictures.
Sixx is an avid car enthusiast constantly changing up his collection, and since he has recently purchased a new Ferrari California to replace the SS, Nikki is adamant that he wants to see his Chevelle go to a good home. He should, since this excellent example of classic muscle is fully-equipped with every option for that particular year.
This Super Sport was originally ordered with cruising in mind, as it packs the LS-5 Turbo-Jet 454 with 365hp, a TH400 3-speed, and 3.55 gears stuffed in the factory 12-bolt out back. Power windows, top, and steering plus air conditioning, AM/FM 8-track stereo and auxiliary lighting add to the plush interior and driving comfort.
We think it’s an excellent representation of the marque, and would love to jump on this car ourselves. Nikki will even throw in an autographed copy of his book, “This Is Gonna Hurt” as an added bonus. So for the $75,000 you’ll get two memorabilia items, and not just one.
