According to a recent press release, NADAguides has released it’s Top Recommended Current Buys report for the Second Quarter of 2011, and the new Dodge Challenger had made the Top-6 list of vehicles that hold their value well! It is one of two American vehicles on the list and is joined by the 2011 GMC Terrain SLE-2. The other over-achievers were the 2011 Hyundai Azera Limited, 2011 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab V6 Manual, and the 2011 Toyota Venza I4 AWD.

According to the report, several factors were weighed in choosing the market segment leaders. The ’11 Challenger R/T showed only an percent first-year depreciation rate and had a starting MSRP under $30,000, though just barely; it came in at $29,895. The report also weighed in on the plethora of financing options available, and the Challenger has many options beginning with a $1,000 bonus cash offer direct from Dodge. Financing rates currently offered are 1.9 percent on 36 months, 2.9 percent on 48 months, 3.9 percent on 60 months and 5.9 percent on 72 months.

We also took note that the report factored in, of all things (GASP), performance!  With 375 ponies under the hood the Challenger still achieves 20 MPG. In addition it received a four star safety rating from NHTSA, making it an honest to goodness performance car that is safe, fun, and easy on the ‘ol pocketbook. We dig it.
