No, this isn’t another Jeff Gordon/Pepsi test drive prank if that’s what you were initially thinking.
On Monday, according to 1011HD, a Duteau Chevrolet salesman was showing 21 year-old Quintin Pack a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro and everything was going swimmingly. Pack expressed that he would like to test drive the Camaro he was being shown, and as the dealership was sorting through paperwork, checking to see if his license was good, Pack took off with the keys and the car. The dealership’s General Manager, Lynn Sunderman, said that in all of his 20 years at that dealership, he’s never quite had a day like that day.
When the police first located Pack, he refused to stop, so the officers backed off for safety reasons and the Nebraska State Patrol helicopter began to track him from above. The police reported that they found Pack and the car in a home’s driveway on the 3400 block of Old Dominion Road. When the police found him in the driveway with the car, they said he backed into one of their cruisers and hit a mailbox in the process. The weird part is that it’s not Pack’s home. The police say they don’t know what his obsession with that home is, but they also busted Pack for trespassing that same home early Sunday morning.
“My sales manager called OnStar and worked with the police and OnStar,” Sunderman said. “OnStar was able to disable the vehicle so it came to a slow, controlled stop.” Pack and the Camaro stopped at 27th and Nebraska Highway after OnStar disabled it, and Pack then ran into a nearby ShopKo, where police arrested him. Obviously Pack hasn’t learned his lesson because this isn’t the only time he’s caused any trouble. Nobody was hurt in the pursuit, though, and that’s what really matters.
