Need some sound for your classic car? Retro Manufacturing just released their Redondo radio to fit into your classic Mopar and have modern features. With SiriusXM and USB you can play your smartphone’s playlists through your radio. Details below.
Official Release:
In mid-April, Retro Manufacturing will be introducing their Redondo radio, the first radio with modern electronics and features ever designed for classic Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth vehicles. The Redondo fits flawlessly in dozens of mid-1960s to early 1970s Mopar “A” Body, “B” Body and “C” Body vehicles thanks to an innovative modular design that allows the radio face, push-buttons and radio controls to be adjusted independently.
The Redondo has all the features of a modern car radio. It is SiriusXM satellite radio ready – simply plug in the standard SiriusXM Connect receiver to play satellite radio in your classic Mopar vehicle. Built-in Bluetooth wireless connectivity enables safe hands-free telephone calls and wireless audio streaming from any smartphone. The Redondo has made-for-iPod/iPhone compatibility to play Apple devices through your audio system.
The Redondo has a built-in 25 watts x 4 channel power amplifier as well as RCA pre-outs plus a subwoofer output for building a system using external amplifiers. A 32,000 color display lets you customize it to the interior of your classic Mopar ride. Two USB inputs are provided for Apple devices or for flash drives loaded with music files. Two additional standard auxiliary inputs for portable devices are also included.
The Redondo is available with standard radio shafts or with the “thumb roller” controls unique to many late 1960’s to early 1970’s Challengers, Chargers, Barracudas and other Mopar classics. For the first time, owners of these classic vehicles can enjoy modern radio features in combination with classic Mopar styling. MSRP on the RetroSound Redondo is $399.99.
