With the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals season in the books earlier then we can ever remember, series officials have likewise been at work finalizing next year’s schedule early, as well, and this week, they revealed their six-race schedule that will comprise the series in 2016.

Unlike in 2015, which saw a number of changes, including moving the Indianapolis event to mid-summer and shifting the finale to Norwalk in August to avoid the cold, rainy conditions common in October, the 2016 schedule presents no major changes or surprises.

The season will kick off at its traditional site at the Bradenton Motorsports Park in Florida in March, and then will move to the Atlanta Dragway in Georgia in April, the Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky. in May, and to Indianapolis in June. The NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing in Joliet, Ill. and the NMCA World Street Finals at the Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Oh. will then conclude the season. The Atlanta and Joliet events will both be combined events, featuring both the NMRA and NMCA series classes and competitors.

A number of special addition are part of the 2016 schedule, including the addition of the F.A.S.T. (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) series in Joliet and Norwalk. The Dave Duell Nostalgia Super Stock Classic will return in Bowling Green, as will Cobra Jet Shootouts in Bradenton and Norwalk, and the Chevrolet Perfomance Series at Indianapolis and Norwalk.

Finally, the series will again contest a one-off, standalone event as part of the Chevrolet Performance Series, the Chevrolet Performance Nationals, at the Atlanta Dragway on June 3-5.
