Pontiac may be been let go by General Motors last summer, but many relics of the once exciting brand remain. If anything, the closure of Pontiac has only increased the value of the remaining Pontiac products, including classic muscle cars like the GTO. Of course, there are some cars that would remain valuable whether Pontiac was still around or not.

Cars like this triple black ’69 Pontiac GTO Judge Convertible. This uber-rare GTO is heading to Mecum’s Zeb Morris collection auction September 16^th through the 19^th.

The Pontiac GTO Judge was the crème de la crème of the Pontiac muscle car portfolio. In addition to the bad ass name, the Judge (a mere $332 option package) was the ultimate in street performance and image. It included a custom Hurst t-bone shifter, Rally II wheels, the Ram Air III engine, and a host of gauges, stripes, and other image-intensifying aesthetics.

What makes this particular GTO so damn rare is that is it the only fully-optioned out, triple black Judge convertible ever made. It has all the bells and whistles, including the hip-at-the-time 8 track player. Additionally, this car underwent a frame-off restoration using 90% NOS (new old stock) parts. Not a single mile has been put on this GTO since the restoration was completed, making it an outstanding collectors item. Give to us for an hour though, and we’d put plenty of miles on this beast.
