Own a One-Of-a-Kind Lincoln Premier For Big Pocket Change: $150,000

1

The highly-modified Lincoln Premier started life as a two-door hardtop with original paint and interior and only 61,000 miles on it. It was purchased from a Georgia collector in 1995, and driven for about a year until the water pump went. After that, you see the result.

Direct from the “Man did you see that files”, check out this 1957 Lincoln Premiere. This over the top build was created by Todd Hare, and started life not as a convertible, but as a two-door hardtop. It was turned it into a convertible by using a ’72 Skylark donor car for the top frame and windshield, door glass, and quarter windows. Body mods consist of the fenders being re-worked (dual headlights to single headlights), removing the vents and chrome from the hood, and reforming the hood to match the fenders.

2Adding some cool to the front end, is a stainless steel gravy ladle that has cut flames into so it looks like a fireball coming out of the front of the hood. The grill was replaced with a Desoto-style unit, and the bumper was moved back and formed to match the fenders. Custom parking lights were formed out of stainless steel, and the lower half of the front fenders were reformed to create a new wheel opening contour. Custom rocker panels were fabricated to give the car a lower stance, and to match the front fender and quarter panel lines. The doors were radiused at the corners, and given flush-fit door handles that are painted to match the Lincoln Ivory Pearl body color.

As much custom fabrication work that oozes from the body, under the hood is a 460 backed by a C6 transmission and a 9-inch rear end, all sourced from a ’77 Lincoln Mark V.

As great as this car is, the owner feels that it is time for someone else to enjoy the car. So, if you check out the link on eBay, and enter your bid, you could be the proud new owner. Ok, it’s not really a bid, as much as the Buy It Now price is $150,000. But man this thing would look cool in your garage. Check out the auction here: Lincoln Auction

Bottom use

In stock condition, a great looking Premier has body lines that stop traffic. In this condition, you can figure on paying in the area of $20,000 for a two-door hard top, $15,000 for a two-door sedan, and $75,000 for a convertible.
