In 2004, Dodge introduced a bold new muscle wagon called the Magnum to its rear-wheel drive centric lineup. Alas, the Magnum was cut when Chrysler entered into bankruptcy, leaving a gaping hole in the high-speed grocery getter segment of the market. We doubt that the Magnum will be making a return any time soon, which leaves us free to invent our own replacement…or just borrow a better idea from the Internet.
An idea like say, a Challenger-based wagon? We came across the above picture at CWW Car Design, and while it is just as improbable as a return of the Magnum, we have to ask…would you rock a Challenger wagon?
If your answer is anything but yes, just stop reading right now. For the rest of you, let’s just imagine for a moment that Chrysler somehow decided that yes, what the Dodge lineup needs is a sport wagon. And not just any wagon, but one with the front end and rear-wheel drive of the Dodge Challenger muscle car.
Chrysler has seen fit to give the whole HEMI engine lineup a big horsepower boost, so it isn’t out of the question to imagine a 470 horsepower Challenger wagon roaming the streets. It’ll never happen, of course, unless some wealthy creative types decide to create a Magnum/Challenger Frankenstein for themselves. And that wouldn’t be a bad thing.
