Plymouth Barracuda Dream Buy Saves a Classic from Imminent Death

2331For some of us, dreams come in the form of shiny new carbon fiber wrapped toys. For others, the heartbeat of classic cars keeps the dream alive. When Mark purchased his 1970 Barracuda, he says that it was a “dream come true.” Even though the car is a long way from being perfected, its new owner is ecstatically proud to have the American Classic in his driveway.

Generally, classic cars and unique stories go hand in hand. If you’ve ever owned a piece of history like this, you may find that determining the origins of the car is like that of a detective. Fortunately for Mark, he purchased his dream ride off of the original owner. As was common practice, the original owner of the car purchased it new when he was fresh home from the war in Vietnam. Forty five years later, age and neglect really got the best of the car. That was when Mark was able to swoop in and purchase his dream ride. He was even able to get some original pictures of when the car was brand new.

Mark most definitely has some work ahead of him, but the feeling of acquiring a car that you’ve had your eye on for what we assume to be a sizable length of time is 110% worth the effort. Given that the car has been sitting for 15 years, it doesn’t even look to be in all that bad of condition given the circumstances. We don’t feel as if it would be going out on much of a limb to say that Mark did indeed save this car from the chopping block which threatened a quite ugly, dilapidated, and rust ridden future.

If this purchase were about the money, a fully restored Barracuda could potentially bring the big bucks at auction. Judging by the tone of his words though, we think it’s a safe bet to assume that this Plymouth won’t be on the auction block any time soon. Have you had your eye on a dream car that you can’t wait to get your hands on?
