Named by John Delorean, the GTO Judge was produced in response to the growing popularity of low-cost, GTO alternatives on the market such as the Plymouth Road Runner. It had a short production which ran from the 1969 model year to 1971.
A first model year Judge was recently added to the line-up for an upcoming Mecum auction. Rarer than just one of the 7,000 true Judges created, the one up for bid is one of only 239 Judge Ram Air IV cars produced with a four-speed transmission.
The Judge comes equipped with a 400cui, 370hp Ram Air IV engine- the highest performance engine offered in the Judge. The Ram Air IV in the car is an SR block with original heads and intake.
The Judge has its original numbers-matching, M-21 four-speed transmission. It comes with power steering, power disc brakes and safety track-HD. The car is painted in factory Carousel Red with traditional stripes and badges.
It has a Parchment interior with console, push-button radio and tachometer. While the miles on this Judge are not disclosed in the lot information, it does say that the miles are original and documented.
If you’re looking for a rare Ram Air IV Judge, this may be the car for you. It will be auctioned off at the Mecum Auction in St. Charles, Illinois in September. The car will cross the auction block on Friday September 16th at 7:15p.m. We’re sure that this Judge will get plenty of attention and look forward to seeing just how much it goes for.
