Look out, here comes Gas Monkey Richard Rawlings with his new resto-mod 1971 Pantera. He sold his hot-rodded Ferrari F40 at Barrett-Jackson and with pockets full of money, he went on to seal the winning bid on “ADRNLN,” a very cool resto-mod built by famed fabricators and car builders, the Ringbrothers. This is what you get for $300K these days.
A 1971 mid-engine Italian supercar packing a Wegner Motorsport LS3 V-8 pumping out 600 horsepower, spinning a ZF five-speed gearbox and rumbling through a Flowmaster exhaust. The suspension continues the sacrilegious Chevy theme with C5 components on all four corners with six-piston Baer brakes and Nitto tires on HRE wheels.
The body has trademark Ringbrothers touches like restyled front and rear ends, roof scoop, tasteful fender flares and brake cooling ducts gently grafted to the Pantera’s monocouque coachwork. The DeTomaso car’s interior was notorious for being dark and cave-like, but ADRNLN cures that with light and breezy two-tone interior that came to fruition with help from none other than Nike.
There is a bittersweet backstory too as the car’s former owner, Randy Brickle recently passed away and his wife sought the services of Mike and Jim Ring to complete the project. The memory of Randy now lives on in this seventies supercar.
Now that Rawlings is a big reality TV personality, keep your eyes peeled on Discovery Channel for more ADRNLN news and a glimpse at Randy Brickle’s old Pantera.
