Last week during the SEMA Show in Las Vegas at the Hot Rod Industry Alliance Reception, Mike and Jim Ring were given the distinguished honor of receiving the Goodguys Trendsetter Award 2011. This award is chosen by the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association and given to those builders who show cutting edge creations in the rod and custom world.
Working from their Spring Green, Wisconsin shop the Ring Brothers have turned out projects such as “Reactor” ’67 Mustang and “Razor” ’69 Camaro. The two have been building such creations for more than a decade and have become known around the world for their designs.
This is not the first award the Ring Brothers have won for their ingenuity in Muscle Car and Street Machine building. The duo has also won the Mother’s Shine and Ford Design awards as well as the Goodguys Street Machine of the Year two successive years and many others.
The passion Mike and Jim have for building cars goes back to their childhood when as kids they would build up junked out lawn mower engines. Now they will build everything from small performance upgrades to full blown custom creations. They always do their best with all their projects to keep the stock look of the vehicle and the standards of quality are well above any expectations of the industry.
A few of the other who have won this award; Chip Foose, Troy Trepanier, Alan Johnson, Eric Peratt, Tim Strange, Dave Lane, Zane Cullen, Dean Livermore, Jesse Greening, Troy Ladd, J.F. Launier and Jeremy Gerber.
