Over 50 years ago, Tom Lieb and his team at Scat Crankshafts built an engine parts empire in Redondo Beach, California. Since then, the company has established that they have a handle on what it takes to go fast with American muscle; it’s with that heritage in mind that they’ve developed their all-new SCAT PACK series of engine component packages.
There are part numbers that currently exist to satisfy the demands of nearly any contemporary enthusiast, designed to fit the Chevy LS engine, the 392/426 Hemi Challenger/Charger/Hellcat triumvirate, and the 4.6-liter Modular and 5.0-liter Coyote Ford engine platforms.
As enthusiasts push these engines harder and harder on the track, they’ve found that the factory components, while strong, are not durable enough for serious competition use. It’s with those requirements at the forefront of the development process that the company has selected their American-machined 4340 forged steel crankshafts, Pro Sport H-beam or Pro Series I-beam connecting rods complete with 7/16-inch ARP capscrew hardware, complete with premium forged pistons, Total Seal rings and Clevite engine bearings to complete each of the kits.
The LS version of the SCAT PACK is designed to fit 383 to 467 cubic inch engines, while the Ford version will net the racer anywhere from 4.6 to 5.1-liters of displacement depending upon platform.
The racer has the choice of ordering a balanced or unbalanced assembly; all of the pre-balanced assemblies are dialed in using Scat’s on-site Hines balancers and delivered ready to go.
Each of the kits can also be customized to the racer’s specific needs; just give the guys a ring and they’ll get you set up with what you need.
