SCT Performance, manufacturers of hand held automotive performance and fuel economy programmers and custom tuning software for the domestic performance market, is very much a vital part of the Mustang and Ford enthusiast market. And so it’s only natural that they have a great involvement with the NMRA as primary backers of Mike Murillo’s six-second, 200 MPH Pro Outlaw 10.5 Mustang, as well as Jim Roberts’ 2003 Lightning in the Truck category. You can also find SCT on the Manufacturers Midway at several events throughout the season.
For 2011, SCT has stepped up their involvement with the series and its racers, announcing that they have signed on as backers of Renegade runner Bart Tobener and longtime veteran Johnny Lightning. Tobener campaigns his Fox body Mustang in the exciting Renegade category and finished out last season with a fourth place points finish. johnny Lightning meanwhile, a familiar face on the tour and owner of Johnny Lightning Performance will also join the SCT family of racers in the NMRA as he campaigns his Lightning pickup in the Truck category.
Tobener’s ride sports a new scheme similar to that of Murillo, albeit with a blue base color. Lightnings’ truck also sports a brand new and flashy scheme in the SCT colors. Look for both of these machines on the NMRA trail in 2011, and be sure to check out SCT on the midway or on their website at www.sctflash.com.
