Whoa. Check out this customized 1991 Rolls Royce from Ted Vernon down in Florida. If you don’t recognize this gentleman’s name, he’s the guy with the pretty wife from Velocity’s “South Beach Classics” and apparently when he’s not running a reality TV empire, he’s handling the operations at his classic car lot down south. A busy guy!
We called him up to see what the dealio was on this thing and he relayed the crazy backstory of this car. Rumor has it that the Sultan of Bahrain bought this big British boat in the states in 1991 and had it shipped back across the pond to the jolly old England. We’re guessing the car cost $100K + back in the day.
From there this Mulliner Park Ward, extended wheelbase Rolls was treated to an extreme “customization.” $300,000 later, the Sultan paid the tab and left the country but never returned to get the car. It must be nice to be so rich you can leave that kind of money behind and not think twice.
Somehow it made another trans-Atlantic trip back to the states and landed somewhere in the Midwest. Mr.Vernon then acquired the car. Details regarding designer and builder are scarce. Vernon thinks the designer was “Keller, as in Helen…” Aside from some suede in the interior, everything else seems stone stock.
This thing is big and “unique.” It would look great in San Francisco with flowers painted all over it, LSD not required. Or, if there was ever a Roger Rabbit movie reboot, this thing would be a perfect prop, no alterations needed. Whatever the next chapter is for this beauty, $66,500 is the magic number for seller. Would you ever be caught driving a car like this?
