Edelbrock is known among muscle car enthusiasts as one of the leading parts companies for quality restoration parts. Edelbrock sponsored the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge since it began.

This year the Division 7 leg of the challenge will be held at the sixth annual Rev’ved Up 4 Kids Charity Car Show scheduled for May 1. The Ohio Technical College and School of Automotive Machinists has joined the event, increasing the scholarship money to over $1,000,000.

Teams of high school students compete against each other to tear down, and rebuild, a small-block Chevrolet engine in the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge. The goal of the students is to tear the engine apart and put it together correctly in the shortest time that they can. Teams compete across the country for scholarships to local automotive schools. The winning teams from each division compete at the national competition, held every year at the SEMA conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Both the Ohio Technical College and School of Automotive Machinists have each committed $530,000 to go toward student scholarships this year for the competition. This means that each student from the winning team will be awarded $5,000 for an automotive technical college. Students from the second place team will each receive a $3,000 scholarship while students from the third place team will each receive a $2,000 scholarship. Each student who is part of a non-placing team, will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship just for participating.

The Rev’ved Up 4 Kids Charity event runs from 10 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon.
