Medusa, a unique siren of beauty, casts a spell upon those who gaze at the enchanting creation of Prefix Performance. Recently revealed to the automotive aftermarket scene, this limited edition convertible SRT Viper option is now available as part of a 2015 roadster package upgrade.
For those elite few who want to feel the breezy wind and hear the roar of the engine on the open road, this ride with the Prefix roadster treatment is available for an additional $35,000 above sale price. The Medusa SRT Viper will come Powered by a 640 HP 8.4- liter V10 engine backed by a six-speed transmission capable of 0-60 mph in the low threes and a top speed of 206 mph. Not only does this limited edition beauty come equipped with the muscle, but it will also display the Prefix badging as well.
Some unique features this ride will be sporting are custom embroidered floor mats to match the exterior and smoke finished colored chrome, adding to the visual appeal of this rolling work of art. Seeing an opportunity with the Viper and the fact that a roadster was not an option in the line-up, the concept was brought to life by Prefix.
When tackling the conversion process, Prefix wanted to maintain the beauty of the car and did not want to lose any of the design cues of the Viper. The objective was to maintain the factory look. With that said the Prefix design team was able to enhance the overall appearance with some unique changes maintaining the traditional Viper look.
On the first run of the Medusa, only ten will become available to the public. If the car proves to be a success that brings about demand, Prefix could rev up production to build up to 100 copies of the Medusa per year. So for an exclusive few, with pockets deep enough, they can have this upgraded aftermarket option in as little as eight weeks.
With the Viper currently on its second idle of the Michigan based factory this year this could be what is needed to give the lagging Viper a boost in sales to compete against its lower priced competitor – the Corvette Stingray. Do you think this will help ensure a brighter future for the Viper in the high end performance arena?
