Kevin is a passionate car guy and likely has been from day one; he’s certainly one of the most fun interviews I’ve done to date. The first car he fell in love with was his brother’s ’70 Olds 442 and things progressed from there. A die hard Mopar man, he’s building a ’69 Charger that will be an intentionally low-tech but highly-cool tribute to ingenuity and people that take pride in a little grease under the fingernails. (If the guys at F.A.S.T. can run sub 10-second quarter times on bias ply tires, Kevin can as well, right?)
He’s worked in media his entire career and is already an Editor; a real testament to his dedication to his profession. His draw to the online world came as he saw the opportunities that the internet could bring to car guys with the ability to give instant information. That means there really is no more waiting 2 months for your favorite magazine to come out with event coverage!
Kevin is a husband and father, a story teller, loves the American historical impact of muscle cars, and uses cars and words to connect with people. It’s a rare thing for a gear head to be able to communicate his thoughts and feeling through writing, but Kevin’s got the gift. (I certainly don’t, as my engineering background still causes me to write most things in bullet points and spreadsheets.)
Add that in with the fact that we have similar feelings about The Dukes of Hazzard (The General Lee in particular), and he and I are going to get along fabulously. His article titled “Everything I Know I Learned From The Dukes of Hazzard” says it all. Yee-ha!
