Burnouts are pure senseless fun, but there are cars that reign supreme when it comes to unadulterated tire melting madness. Many car shows and motorsports events include a burnout contest, for those needing a little information on which make and model would kick ass then reading the Ridelust guide to the top five burnout cars would be worth your effort.
Ridelust compiled a subjective list of the top five late model cars when it comes to a nice smoky law enforcement-angering burnout and why they are in fact the best. According to the site the top five are: ’11 Cadillac CTS-V, ’11 Dodge Challenger SRT8, ’10 Chevrolet Camaro SS, any year of the Ford Mustang GT and 2007-on-up Chevrolet Corvette.
All of these modern muscle cars produce gobs of power and rarely ever-left in completely stock form. Most car guys and girls will immediately start with basic mods (air kit, exhaust, gears, etc) that enhance the performance of their new toy. With additional power these beasts are able to increase the volume of smoke and annoy the general public with ease.
Despite the three General Motors vehicles included in the top five, the Mustang seemed to be the burnout champ; Ridelust stated, “The Ford Mustang GT is the granddaddy of the modern burnout.” However, the Corvette was given credit for being a “cannon” right off the lot. Regardless of brand bias, all of these machines are more than capable of destroying the asphalt and set upon set of tires.
