Rock and rock and automobiles have always had an intimate relationship, with many rock stars hoarding huge collections of classic and exotic cars. And that is where the relationship stops for most stars, but not Jack White of the White Stripes. Rather, it seems as though White is combining rock music, classic American muscle, and a whole mess of other features in a new web film entitled “Freedom in 21.”
The film’s first trailer dropped yesterday, and though the teaser reveals little about the plot or characters, there is a 1970 Plymouth HEMI ‘Cuda featured prominently…and that is good enough for us.
As the lead man for the White Stripes, Jack White has become a sort of cultural icon himself. The White Stripes music is regularly featured at sporting events and in commercials, but it seems White wants to expand his sphere of influence to that of web films. With the notorious Hype Williams directing, “Freedom in 21” promises to be, at the very least, different.
Utilizing contrasting colors, high-power American muscle, rock music, and scantily-clad woman clambering up the hood of a moving Mopar, we have to admit that we are intrigued. But you’ll have to watch the full film, which drops on July 16th, to really make any sense of this trailer. We’ll be tuning in; will you?
