What’s better than a bunch of classic V8 muscle cars tearing around a modern-day road course? If you said nothing, you’re in the right place my friend.

Recently we came across this video on RideLust of boisterous classics battling it out at the Bathurst Raceway down in Australia as part of the Biante Touring Car Masters Series. We’re talking rip-roaring V8s, raw power, exquisite style and that one-of-a-kind sound that only makes sense coming out of the back of a muscle car. If this doesn’t make your heart skip a beat, nothing will.

Australia’s Biante Touring Car Masters Series started back in 2007 and has been a hit ever sense. This series takes classic “hero cars” with modern upgrades and pins them against each other in some of the most competitive automotive racing in Australia.

Evoking a sense of yesteryear, cars like Falcon GT’s, Holden Monaros, Chrysler Chargers (yes, Chargers were branded under the Chrysler name rather than Dodge in Australia), BOSS Mustangs and vintage Camaros battle each other for coveted titles. And a sport like vintage auto racing wouldn’t be the same without some of the biggest names in Australian motorsports like Jim Richards, Bob Middleton and John Bowe.

The Bathurst Touring Car Masters took place last year from October 6^th through the 9^th, with this video showcasing only a snippet of the weekend’s events. When it was all said and done, Glen Seton and his Ford Falcon XB hardtop took the Bathurst win, not to be outshined by John Bowe and his ‘69 Ford Mustang TransAm who took second at Bathurst but first overall in the 2011 Touring Car Masters Series.
