There are some things in this world that only gearheads get. This suspension-view video of Detroit Speed’s ‘70 Camaro taking laps at the Carolina Motorsports Park that we found on BangShift.com is one of them. For you non-gearhead minded people out there, we don’t expect you to understand. But for those of you who find pleasure in the mere workings of a performance car, get ready to drool.
The Camaro is fitted with a full Detroit Speed front subrame and features suspension parts from the company on all four corners. The suspension system also makes use of JRI shocks. Sticking the power of the all aluminum 6.3L L92-equipped Camaro to the ground is a set of BF Goodrich tires while stopping power comes from the Baer brake system.
Obviously Detroit Speed’s Camaro is built to be driven hard, so Detroit Speed stuck a Replay XD camera on the car’s undercarriage to show just how well their suspension system works on a road course.
With an angle shot right at the inside tire wall, you can see just how much the suspension flexes, moves and jars around as driver Kyle Tucker makes his way around the road course. You also get a close-up look at just how glowing hot the Baer brakes get with plenty of decelerations.
When it comes to mechanical videos, there are few things better than watching the pure awesomeness in this video. The only thing that could make it better would be a split screen of the road course Tucker was driving at the time.
