Last year, the National Geographic Channel debuted a new series called Ultimate Factories, which showed the behind-the-scenes assembly work at high end manufacturers, such as Rolls Royce, Lamborghini and others.
Tomorrow night, February 3rd at 10:00 pm, NGC returns with a new series for 2011. This week’s episode features the Dodge Challenger. The Brampton, ON, facility that produces up to 900 Challengers daily, takes 20 hours to complete the build from nothing to a car ready to drive onto the transporter.
The 3 million square foot assembly plant uses 20 miles of conveyor systems to bring the right stuff to the right place at the right time. As part of the episode, NGC will also visit the Mexican factory where the Challenger’s HEMI engines are built.
The teaser video below, covers paint shop operations. For the rest, you’ll have to tune in to the National Geographic Channel tomorrow night at 10:00 p.m. ET.
