Video: California Prankster Finds a Way to "Street Race" Legally

When it comes to racing, doing so on the street is never a good idea. But, if you’re one of the country’s leading pranksters, this illegal act makes for an interesting basis for one of the funniest pranks we’ve ever seen. Check it out in the video above.

If you’ve heard the name Roman Atwood, you’re probably familiar with this young gent’s crazy shenanigans. In the spirit of “original pranks to make you smile more,” Atwood has done everything from fake broken bones to have someone dress up in a bear costume and carry out pseudo bear attacks, but some of the funniest pranks he’s done have involved vehicles.

Just awhile back, Atwood pranked people by pretending to steal their gas, and another time pranked car owners by pretending to steal their wheels right in front of them. These pranks become even funnier when Atwood daringly includes law enforcement officers in his antics.

Atwood’s latest car-themed prank is no different, except that it may just be his funniest yet. Using various performance cars, Atwood and his friends take to the streets ready for a street race, complete with the flag girl and everything. But what the unsuspecting victims of this prank don’t realize is that the only thing racing and causing ruckus is the speaker behind Atwood’s seat, as he accelerates even slower than with normal driving to sounds of screeching tires, revving engines and loud exhaust tones.

Performed most often in front of police officers in the Los Angeles area, this prank quickly draws the attention of law enforcement, who don’t hesitate on pulling Atwood over and accusing him of street racing. But once they are informed that it was all just an audio clip, the officers’ reactions are priceless.
