The world of comedy and cars often overlaps, as many a famous performer also happens to be a huge gearhead. Tim Allen, Adam Carolla, and Jay Leno are just a few funnymen who also have huge car collections. Well add to that list the sometimes-offensive ventriloquist Jeff Dunham.
Dunham, a certifiable Mopar fan, has teamed up with Chrysler to help build a new Challenger SRT8 that he says will get an all-new engine that will debut at the 2012 SEMA Show. We wonder what it could be?
Dunham has become quite famous for his slapstick ventriloquism act, with characters such as the ever-grumpy Walter and the ridiculously-excitable Peanut. Perhaps his most controversial character though is Ahmed the Dead Terrorist, who Dunham celebrated with a custom car. Now Dunham is taking his comedic talents to SEMA with a car called “Project Ultraviolet”.
Little is revealed about Ultraviolet in the above video, save that it will be powered by a new Mopar engine. We have good reason to believe this motor will be a supercharged 6.4 liter HEMI V8, as it is going into a new Challenger SRT8. But before the old HEMI engine comes out, Dunham decides to get a little sideways with his soon-to-be-modified ride.
What does this comedian and his Mopar cohorts have in store? We’ll have to wait for the SEMA show to find out, but we bet it’ll be awesome.
