People can fall on hard times through no fault of their own. It’s easy to get overextended on credit, lose a job, or otherwise find yourself in a situation where no matter how hard you try or how much you want to, you just can’t pay your bills. Cars and trucks get repossessed, and we aren’t here to judge or shame anyone who’s found themselves in that situation. But if it happens to you, you can handle it with class, or you can do what this woman did…
The video opens with a tow truck operator from Mission Towing & Recovery in Spartanburg, South Carolina attempting to recover a Cadillac Escalade. A new Escalade will run you north of $70k, minimum, and of course custom wheels and the tires to go with them are another five grand or so. Even stretching the loan out to seven years, you’re talking a grand a month in payments, though you might get off cheaper month to month with a lease (though the buyout at the end would be a crippler…)
So it’s not hard to see how one might miss a payment or ten, and end up with their Caddy on a tow hook. It’s an old school bumper tow, too – none of this wheel lift business, and that’s a good thing because the presumed (former) owner of the SUV floors it. The back tires spin fruitlessly and the engine bounces off the rev limiter before she gives up, and decides to take a different approach. After instructing an off-camera bystander to get her a trash bag for her possessions, she disappears inside the truck, and we hear the sound of breaking glass.
It’s a scorched earth tactic – if she can’t have her Escalade, then she’s gonna wreck that isht. She continues to break out windows with what looks like a hammer, calmly alternating between throwing papers and clothing to the curb and busting glass. A man in a uniform stands by and watches; we’re guessing that he’s probably private security and not paid enough to deal with crazy women armed with blunt objects.
Unfortunately, we don’t get to see how it all ends as the video cuts off, so we’ll never know. Did she calm down? Did she get arrested? Did the tow truck driver receive well-earned hazardous duty pay? One thing we can say for certain – she’ll have a hard time financing another ride any time soon…
