The head honchos at Dodge have pulled a Chevrolet/Transformers deal, teaming up with Universal Pictures to support the upcoming action-thriller Fast Five and the ’11 Dodge Charger. The latest installment in Universal’s Fast and Furious franchise, Fast Five, will be released in theaters April 29. Dodge supplied several ’10 and ’11 Dodge Charger vehicles used in chase scenes throughout the movie.
“The Dodge brand is proud to partner with Universal Pictures on Fast Five. We enjoyed being a part of the production process and working with the cast and crew, and it clearly comes through in the film,” explained Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, Dodge Brand. “The chase scenes in this installment of Fast Five are over-the-top and adrenaline-filled, and Dodge fans will be thrilled by the performance of the Dodge Charger.”
Fast Five will debut April 29 in the USA after its premiere April 15 in Rio de Janerio. The Brazilian city figures strongly in the plot, which sees the return of Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto and Paul Walker as Brian O’Conner. In this installment, the usual suspects once again find themselves on the wrong side of the law as they try to switch lanes between a deadly drug lord and an uncompromising federal agent.
This is the first Fast & Furious movie to be released in IMAX format.
