Australians love a burnout more than pretty much anything we can think of. Then again, who doesn’t enjoy a good smoke show? As usual, we’re addicted to bringing you some of the best representation of what our beloved Chevy muscle cars can do. Case in point, this stealthy Chevelle from the annual SummerNats event in Australia. Let this be a lesson to all you gearheads out there, these boys from down under now how to get the back end loose.
Australia, which is in the middle of summer right now, recently held the very popular Summer Nationals, which includes a massive burnout festival.
Among the many entrants was none other than 1FATRAT, a big-block powered ‘71 Chevelle that shows those Aussies how American muscle can become an instant crowd-pleaser. We think you’ll agree, this is one of the most epic burnouts ever.
Additionally, to top it off, we’ve got two videos illustrating 1FATRAT’s efforts including two points of view. These two videos come from the finals of the Blown Class burnout competition, which pits drivers against each other in a bid to blow the most smoke.
Many cars enter, but only one can win, and 1FATRAT makes a good argument with its supercharged big-block engine shredding those tires like they were paper mache.
The in-car video is a hoot to watch as well, giving us an idea of how hard it can be to navigate through a cloud of burnt rubber. There are times when you can see nothing but smoke…the sure sign of a top-notch burnout. We have to give the Aussies credit, they know how to put American muscle to good use!
