Video: FireBreather Camaro Lives On in New Movie “Jinn”

Anyone that says the prospect of a fifth-generation Firebird died when Pontiac went under in 2010 has not been paying attention to the industry over the past four years. Not only is the Firebird concept alive and well, thanks to many aftermarket companies set on keeping the icon around, one “Firebirdized” Camaro is actually getting some street cred thanks to a new movie set to hit select theaters on Friday April 4th. Check out a preview [1] of the supernatural thriller Jinn starring the FireBreather [2] above, compliments of Monroe News [3].

“Forged in Darkness; Born in Flames,” the FireBreather car is the brainchild of filmaker Ajmal Zaheer Ahmad and Detroit-based Exxodus Pictures, an entertainment company who prides itself on being in the movie business and beyond.

Based off of the fifth-generation Camaro, this particular Firebird-like car was created especially for the film Jinn, but prior to its introduction on the big screen, the car made appearances across the country at industry events like the annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Built by Classic Design Concepts, the FireBreather is a high-end modification done to any modern (2010-2014) fifth-generation Camaro. To make a Camaro into a FireBreather, practically every element from the exterior to the engine is retouched in some way.

Giving the FireBreather its unique look is an array of custom body panels, from a hood with a secondary shaker scoop to a specialty decklid spoiler. The car also features a new front fascia with hexagonal mesh grille inserts, rocker molding extensions, custom side scoops with integrated louvers and headlamps with EL eyebrow lighting.

On the inside, the FireBreather features Black leather upholstery with red stitching, custom embroidery and F1 style inserts. You’ll also find complimentary Piano Black trim from the door panels to the dash moldings in the car, as well as red ambient lighting, FireBreather floor mats, a Hurst short-throw shifter (for manual cars) and custom door panel and dash trim “tattoos” with each individual car’s serial number in charcoal.

Opening up the engine even more is a special cold air induction system and a JBA 3-inch cat-back dual exhaust system. While they will build the package on both V6 (as the movie car is) and V8 Camaros, the top of the line engine upgrade package is an Edelbrock E-Force Super Charger System delivering 599 horsepower.

For suspension, the car is equipped with Eibach Pro-Plus performance lowering springs and anti-sway bars. The car’s increased handling aspects are topped off with Pirelli 275/40ZR20 and 295/40ZR20 P-Zero Rosso Asimmetrico tires wrapped around 20×10-inch FireBreather wheels with red reflective graphics.

This unique Firebird-esque concept car will be hitting the big screen on Friday April 4th in select cities [8]. Along with the unique car, automotive enthusiasts can also revel in the movie’s setting, as the entire feature was filmed in Michigan.
