Dig this “murdered-out,” ’12 Charger SRT8 “Drift Cab,” from RedlineDodge.com. Essentially a warmed over Charger SRT8 with four Sparco racing seats, four racing harnesses and a full roll cage, it’s the brain child of drifting superstar Samuel Hubinette. The Drift Cab is a chance for enthusiasts to tag along and experience the thrill of drifting and the power of a 550hp 6.4L HEMI. Watch as the passengers heads wobble back and forth as Hubinette wails around the track. Good stuff.
If anybody at Dodge is reading this, why not create a stripped down version of the Charger in the image of the “Drift Cab?” Lose 500lbs. and all the luxury doo-dads, throw in the 6.4L HEMI, slap on some police car dog dish hubcaps, spray the whole thing in”murdered” matte black and slot it under the SRT8?
Even with the new model’s big schnoz and funky scalloped sides, it’s hard to argue that the new Charger is a hell of a car and maybe a bare bones version would get the old school guys and naysayers to write a check.
Regardless of how many doors the current Charger has,we should be very thankful we can go still down to our local Dodge dealer and buy a RWD, 465hp, 392-cubic-inch HEMI-powered Charger that will do a 13-second quarter mile and top out at 175 mph. We should be thankful we have a Dodge dealer to go to. Very thankful indeed.
