When it comes to ice and snow, most of us tuck our muscle cars away in a garage until all traces of winter melt away. However, some people around the world see the presence of ice and a rear-wheel drive muscle car as a challenge. Case in point, the ice racer in the video above. So sit back and enjoy the ridiculousness of this old yet classic hooning exhibition we found on YouTube.

Driven by Jocke Gasfot, the Camaro is powered by a 355cui V8, which features an 11 to 1 compression ratio, Dart cylinder heads and a roller camshaft.

Obviously the second-generation Camaro is in pretty rough shape with its red, white and blue livery, but what do you expect for a car that’s slug around an icy race course among trees and debris? This crazy ice racing was filmed in Nyköping, Sweden and if you know anything about the area, you know it can get mighty cold over there in the winter. Thus why it’s a perfect place to do some ice racing.

From the looks of it, it doesn’t appear that the name of the game is taking things easy either, especially since Gasfot peels out of his “pit” in the beginning of the video and onto the course with no reservation and narrowly misses a collision with another car. He also doesn’t seem too concerned about trees and lake embankments, thundering toward them like they don’t exist.

Ice racing looks like quite a fun adventure and an interesting past time to enjoy while waiting for spring to come. Of course if you try it, we’d recommend using a car as beat up as the Camaro above and making sure any frozen lakes you attempt to drive on are truly frozen enough to support the weight of a car. Then again, its probably not the smartest thing to try but it sure is fun to watch.
