All across America, there are thousands of us who live our gearheaded lives vicariously through each and every episode of Jay Leno’s Garage. Whether it’s an antique car or a turbine-powered beast, it doesn’t really matter because the one thing we know is that he’s going to get behind the wheel and he’s going to drive it like he stole it.
In one of the latest episodes of Leno’s Garage, Jay gets a visit from Tim Kuniskis, President and CEO of Dodge and SRT Brands. Kuniskis brings along the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and he gives Leno some details about how incredible the Hellcat Hemi is. During his breakdown of the Hellcat, Kuniskis informs Leno that the supercharger “will suck all of the air out of a 10 by 13 room in a minute.” You gotta love it when the CEO talks dirty like that.
We also get some advice from Leno about owning a Hellcat when you go out for a meal. He says, “First of all, you never give your car to a valet,” while Kuniskis is trying to explain the various power modes for valet parking, or when friends ask to borrow the car. Leno interrupts Kuniskis again, “You don’t let anybody borrow this car,” he said, “I don’t care how close a friend it is, he’s not really a friend. He wants to do a burnout.”
Kuniskis was being a good sport and laughed as Leno continued to explain, “These are hard to come by. Friends, you can get them anywhere. If your friend wants to drive this – get a new friend.” Then, towards the end of the video, Leno does his impression of a valet.
It appears that Jay has already made up his mind that he’s not going to share his Hellcat with anyone. Can you blame him?
